Pluto Ceramic Figurine by Hagen Renaker (c.1950s) - ID: hagen00033pluto

A delicate ceramic inspired by the Disney Studios animated character Pluto. Featuring an attentive pose of Mickey’s best friend, the miniature figurine comes with its original card (previously attached), which reads “Walt Disney’s Pluto. Mickey Mouse’s faithful canine companion, who believes ‘a mouse’s best friend is his dog!’ Reproduced by Hagen-Renaker Potteries, Monrovia California. Copyright - Walt Disney Productions.” Hagen Renaker created and sold several figurines based on Disney characters at the Disneyland Resort shortly after the park opened in 1955. According to Walt Disney, they produced "the finest three-dimensional reproductions of (the animated) drawings that he ever saw." Based on the short time of production, and the delicate nature of the miniatures, these figurines are a treasure to find. Measuring .5"x1.75" and 1.5" tall, the figurine is in very good condition with minor production imperfections in the glaze. The original card measures 2.5"x1.75" and is in very good condition with minor wear due to age and handling.
